Privacy Policy

Optioneers Journal ("we," "us," or "the app") is a private trading journal that lets members of the Optioneers community track their options trades and review their performance. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

Information we collect

Account information. You sign in with Discord. Through Discord we receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and — if you grant it — your email address. We use this only to create and secure your account. We never see or store your Discord password.

Your trading data. When you add trades manually, import a broker CSV file, or connect a brokerage, we store the trade details you provide (such as symbol, strike, expiry, quantity, prices, profit or loss, dates, tags, and notes). This data is yours and is shown only to you.

Broker connections. If you choose to connect a brokerage for automatic syncing, the connection is handled by our provider SnapTrade. Your brokerage login credentials are entered on SnapTrade's secure screens and are never seen or stored by us. We store only the tokens needed to fetch your trade history.

Basic technical data. Like most apps, our hosting providers process standard technical information (such as device type and log data) needed to deliver and secure the service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to sign you in, display your trading journal and performance analytics, sync trades you have chosen to import, and keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the app. Each only processes data as needed to provide their service:

Supabase (secure database and authentication); Vercel (application hosting); Discord (sign-in); and SnapTrade (optional brokerage connections). Your data is protected so that each account can access only its own records.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated trades at any time directly in the app: go to Settings and tap Delete account. The deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Security

Data is stored with row-level security so that only your own account can read your trades. Connections are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Not financial advice

Optioneers Journal is a record-keeping and analytics tool, not financial advice. It does not provide financial, investment, or trading advice, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. You are responsible for your own trading decisions.

Children

The app is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
